Rug Road is led by Hossein Gorji, a restorer who has spent his working life in the Persian carpet trade — first in Iran, restoring antique carpets for export to Europe and running a workshop of 130 people, and now in Muscat, where the rugs that come through his hands belong to museums, palaces and private collectors.
